GLHL Weekend Recap: Makers, Wolverines Grab Weekend Wins

Mosinee Papermakers 6, De Pere Deacons 5 (OT)
Nicholas D'Avolio scored with 3:49 left in overtime to grab the win for the Papermakers. Up 4-2 entering the third, the Deacons battled back in the third, scoring two just 1:10 apart (both by Luke Karakas, his third and fourth goals of the game) to tie things up. Thomas Christensen's third period tally put the Papermakers back on top with 5:19 to play, before Karakas scored his fifth goal on the night for the Deacons to tie things back up.

Saturday, February 3

Calumet Wolverines 10, Marquette Mutineers 3
A 3-2 game entering the third period turned lopsided as the Wolverines poured in seven goals in the third to run away with the victory. Brent Loukus had a seven point night, collecting a hat-trick and adding in four assists to lead the way for the visiting Wolverines. Two of his goals game a man  down as four of the Wolverines goals happend on special teams.
