A five-goal second period outburst by the Ice Dogs was the difference in their 7-3 victory over the Deacons Friday night at Tri-County Ice Arena. Second period goals for the Ice Dogs came from Nick Janssen, Clint Zumer, Connor Janssen, Reid Pietila, and Alec Elkin which gave the Dogs a 6-2 lead heading into the final period. Each team would add one more goal to the scoresheet before it was all said and done. Drew Chaney made 30 saves in net for the Ice Dogs. For the Deacons, goaltenders Dylan Baker and Jake Jankowski split time between the pipes.

Box Score

Mosinee Papermakers 9, Eagle River Falcons 7
Eagle River tried their best to battle back from a 4-0 first period deficit, but it was too little, too late as the Makers continued to keep the Falcons at arms reach in their 9-7 win. Mosinee received goals from Thomas Christensen, Alex Molski, Jason Mcaloon, and Theran Bauer to take a 4-0 lead. The Falcons got their first tally of the game from Lucas Otto 3:40 into the second period, but Nicholas D'Avolio pushed the Makers lead back to four. The Falcons would score the game's next three goals, cutting into the deficit and making the game just a one score affair. The teams would continue to trade goals back and forth, ending the hopes of any Falcons comeback. Todd Koritzinsky finished with six points for the Falcons (2-4-6), while league point leader Jason Mcaloon would finish with one goal and four assists.
