Fond du Lac Bears 8, Dane County Dairy Kings 5

The Fond du Lac Bears defended home ice with an 8-5 victory over the Dane County Dairy Kings on Friday night. The Bears came out flying, netting four unanswered goals in the first period, with Malachi Buchholz, Nick Monfils, Brady Beekman, and Ryan Sabel all lighting the lamp. Despite a spirited three-goal second period from Dane County, led by Carter Watters’ two tallies, Fond du Lac maintained control, thanks to multi-point efforts from Monfils and Matt Letmanski. Nolan McDermott added the insurance goal early in the third, while goaltender Alex Kruger stood tall, turning away 25 shots.

Mosinee Papermakers 7, Portage Lake Pioneers 6 (SO)
In a thrilling showdown at the Mosinee Rec Center, the Mosinee Papermakers edged out the Portage Lake Pioneers 7-6 in a shootout. Mosinee surged to an early lead with three first-period goals, including two from Jason McAloon, but Portage Lake mounted a comeback, tying the game with three third-period goals, capped by Nick Harris's equalizer. Both teams battled through overtime, with Mosinee outshooting Portage Lake 56-36 overall, but neither could find the net in extra time. The Papermakers secured the win in the shootout, led by standout performances from McAloon and Kyle Wagner, while goaltender Aaron Petrulis stood tall for the Pioneers, making 50 saves despite the loss.

In the first rematch of the 2024 Kohlman Cup Championship, the Fond du Lac Bears secured a 5-2 victory over the Portage Lake Pioneers Saturday night. The Bears dominated offensively, outshooting the Pioneers 54-33, with standout performances from Matt Letmanski, Ryan Sabel, and Josh Austin, while goalie Justin Davidson made 31 saves. For the Pioneers, Spencer Donnelly was a bright spot, scoring both of their goals. Despite a strong effort from goalie Camden Burggrabe, who recorded 49 saves, Portage Lake couldn’t overcome the Bears' attack.
