The De Pere Deacons picked up a pair of victories, and the Ice Dogs pulled out a shootout win in the weekend's only action.

Friday, March 14
De Pere Deacons 8, M&M Shamrocks 5

Will Mullooly and Kole Altergott each recorded hat tricks to lead the Deacons to a win over the Shamrocks in De Pere. The Deacons jumped out to a three-goal lead in the first period, including goals from Brian Konowalchuk and Altergott. The Shamrocks responded with a five-goal outburst in the second, with Dallas McLaughlin scoring twice, but the Deacons pulled away in the third with three more goals, including Mullooly’s third of the night. Jake Jankowski stopped 30 shots for the Deacons, while Matt Zapp made 55 saves for the Shamrocks.

The Ice Dogs rallied from an early deficit and secured the win in a shootout after a back-and-forth game against the Shamrocks in Appleton. Dallas McLaughlin led the Shamrocks with a hat trick and three assists, while Jeremy Ballard paced the Ice Dogs with two goals and two assists. The Shamrocks held a one-goal lead after the first and third periods, but Aaron LaFave’s goal in the third tied the game, forcing overtime. The Ice Dogs outshot the Shamrocks 47-37, with Drew Chaney making 31 saves for the win, while Matt Zapp stopped 41 shots for the Shamrocks.

The Deacons pulled away with a strong third period to secure the win. Will Mullooly and Aidan Fahey each scored twice for the Deacons, with Kole Altergott and Sam Mancini adding key goals in the third to break the game open. Mosinee battled back with three goals in the final frame, including a late tally from Jason McAloon, but De Pere’s balanced attack and Dylan Baker’s 44 saves on 49 shots helped seal the victory. Ian Caroll stopped 32 of 40 shots for the Papermakers in the loss.
