The Pioneers picked up two rivalry wins over Calumet, and the Papermakers took home the Paper Cup.

Friday, December 12
Portage Lake Pioneers 6, Calumet Wolverines 2

Portage Lake built an early lead with first-period goals from Bryce Hanner and Gaborik Carlson before Calumet answered with a goal from Logan Rastello to make it 2–1. Carlson added his second of the night later in the period to restore a two-goal cushion. The Pioneers extended the lead in the second on goals from Riley McKay and Dawson McKay, then Dylan Farmer scored early in the third to make it 6–1. Calumet closed the scoring late in the game with a goal from Jim Brey. Aaron Petrulis made 33 saves for Portage Lake, which finished with a 39–36 edge in shots.

Fox Cities Ice Dogs 4, Mosinee Papermakers 3
Fox Cities took game one of the annual Paper Cup series with Mosinee. The Ice Dogs opened the scoring early on an unassisted goal from Cody Corbett, but Mosinee answered in the final minute of the first with a goal from Nicholas D’Avolio. The Ice Dogs pulled ahead in the second with goals from Corbett and Jason McAloon before Tyler Loomis brought Mosinee back within one late in the period. Eli Robinson tied the game early in the third, but Jeff Flicker scored with 30 seconds remaining to give Fox Cities the lead for good. Despite being outshot 62–32, the Ice Dogs held on for the win behind a 59-save performance from Max LeClaire.

Saturday, December 13
Portage Lake Pioneers 8, Calumet Wolverines 1

Portage Lake jumped out to a three-goal lead in the first period with goals from Dylan Farmer, Brett Hauswirth, and Brendan Erickson. Calumet got on the board in the second when Sherman Mowery scored midway through the period, but that would be as close as the Wolverines would get. The Pioneers pulled away in the third with five goals, starting with Bryce Hanner and Matt Mantta early in the frame, followed by tallies from Connor Raffaelli, Gaborik Carlson, and Landon Stevens. Camden Burggrabe turned aside 39 shots for Portage Lake, which earned the win despite being outshot 40–36.

Eagle River Falcons 5, Fond du Lac Bears 1
Eagle River scored twice late in the first period on goals from Jacob Robinson and Joey Roach to take a 2–1 lead, with Fond du Lac’s lone goal coming earlier in the period from Drake Deanovich. The Falcons pulled away in the second with three unanswered goals, starting with Evan Janssen, followed by power-play tallies from Robinson and Austin Redder. The third period was scoreless as Eagle River held the Bears off the board. Mathias Anderson made 35 saves for the Falcons, while Fond du Lac finished with a 36–31 edge in shots.

Mosinee took a 4–2 lead out of the first period with goals from Greg Hanson, Nate Alm, Devon Blaes, and Tom Lentz, while Fox Cities answered with tallies from Richie Bernice and Cam Dahl. The Papermakers extended the lead in the second as Max Culp and Kyle Wagner scored twice in the frame, with Fox Cities staying within reach on goals from Jason McAloon and Donny Kealy. Mosinee pulled away in the third with goals from Marcus Prondzins, Eli Robinson, and Lentz, while McAloon added his second of the night for the Ice Dogs. Austin Jensen made 30 saves for Mosinee, which finished with a 38–35 edge in shots. With the two teams splitting the weekend series, the Paper Cup was awarded to Mosinee for winning the goal differentail battle over the weekend, 13-9.
